Boy or Girl?

this is a very serious problem that needs drastic measures. I have been following it myself and have made a blogpost about it as well. no schemes will help: attitude has to change!

The bravery of Velu Naachchiyaar and Marudu brothers

Sir,

thanks very much for blogging about this story. I had not heard of this story until I read your blog. It is sad that these stories of struggle are not highlighted in the mainstream even though they are just as important to know and cherish.

Our media -- oh so mean and petty!

Hi,

I also have been saddened by the qualiy of journalism in our country and have written a couple of blog posts to this effect. However, you have just looked at celebrities- that's just one aspect.

It underlies a fundamental problem with the system: The neccessity to sensationlise!
This necessity is being reflected when they cover stories of other natures as well- do you remember the Gudiya story? That was sensationalism at its worst. They should have left the poor lady- it became obvious after a point that they were only interested in her story because of TRP's and not becoz of social concern.

In fact as far as clebrities are concernd, I would say- why write abt them so much at all? they are just actors at the end of the day- the fact that the media is obsessed with the Priety Zintas and Bachchans of the word shows the steep decine in journalism quality. They are not worth covering to the extent that they are.
